The heart is an organ that is as fragile as the brain. We often ask which organ is more important between the heart and brain. The truth is that both organs are equally important, the heart is particularly important to God because from there can flow love or hate. There is no middle-ground, meaning we cannot be hot or cold. The Lord values and searches the heart – the heart.

1 John 4v8 “Because God is love, it means the very foundation of our lives should be love. . .”

As we read the Bible Colossians 2v2-10 “That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. 5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. 6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the God head bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power”.

The Bible teaches that a heart that is encouraged is able to receive from God and when united in love, you will have the full riches of complete understanding. Understanding is like the root of a tree, it is the most active part of the tree as it helps it to get water from the ground. Understanding serves the same function for us, it helps to draw revelations of the Word enabling us to partake in the Word of God. This is important because in Christ mysteries of the Gospel are hidden. Jesus Himself, is the word wrapped in flesh.

These mysteries will be revealed to us when we are filled with love, which leads to gaining the full riches of understanding. This is important as understanding brings wisdom and knowledge which are the true treasures that we must pursue. When we look at things in the window of Love our mind won’t understand because love is gentle, urging the saints to be rooted in Love our walk with Christ will be easy. Christ did it being co-heirs with him we can also do this “Walking in Love”.
