We read in the bible that in the beginning the first activity that took place on earth happened after a word was spoken. The earth was formless and dark, but a word was spoken. The same principle of speaking the word is repeated to produce or to create what we see today. After creating everything, He made humans in His likeness to take charge of His creation and operate like Him on earth.

When Jesus was on earth in a mission to restore us to the original position, He taught His disciples the same principle that God used to create the universe in Mark 18:23 – 25 “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;  and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass;  he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

The effect of Jesus words was so powerful that the fig tree He spoke to withered within a day. These words ‘You shall have whatsoever you say’ were mentioned by the one who is able to make anything to come to pass. He tells us to speak to a mountain that has its foundation rooted deep into the earth and tell it to move. The key here is faith in God’s ability. Be convinced in your heart that God will do it for you. The next verses talks about prayer and how we must conduct ourselves. In other words, we must talk the talk, live the life. Our confession must correspond with our prayers and actions.

A mountain symbolises any challenging circumstance you are facing, it can be sickness, any kind of lack or need. The words we speak create what we say in the spiritual realm and later manifest in physical realm. The Psalmist asked the Lord to set a watch over his mouth (Psalm 141:3). Again in Proverbs 18:21 the word says the power of life and death is in the tongue. We must always check what we say with our mouths, even in our anger. Also, God takes our jokes serious, Ephesians 5:4.

Ezekiel 37 tells us about the vision that a man of God had. He was taken by God to a valley of dry bones that had no life at all. God commanded him to start speaking life to a dry situation. The bible says, as he spoke, things started to happen. Can these dry bones bear a resemblance to what you are facing now? You tried many methods, formulas and went through different steps – but no answer. It is time to speak to your mountain, decree and declare what you want to see happening and you shall have whatsoever you say.

Through the words of your mouth you can reverse/silence/ refute any word spoken against you, your family, your church, your business and your work place in the name of Jesus. Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper;  and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.   This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”   The bible says you shall reverse any judgement spoken against you and this is your heritage.

In conclusion, we overcame the enemy by the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11). It is clear that words we speak build or destroy us. Let us continuously speak good things over our lives, our children, our families and any situation we encounter. Parents should make their children confess positive things over their own lives as part of their daily devotion. This must be our life style. Amen!
