Jeremiah 29: 10-11
“”For thus says the LORD: When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”

As one year draws to a close and another is about to dawn, it is cause for celebration to some and regret to others. All of us had plans at the beginning of the year, some of which were achieved, some forgotten, yet others, despite our best efforts, still didn’t bear fruit. And it’s the ones that didn’t bear fruit that tend to drag one’s spirit and hopes down. This is unless you are geared to looking on the bright side of things, you may find yourself saying “if only “. Yet worse, at this time, many ask if God even sees their plight and whether He’s aware of how long they have been in such negative situation, how long they have fasted and how many times they have confessed the word.

Yet the Omniscient One (All-Knowing One) says to Israel, who were to be in captivity for seventy years, which is a lifetime for many, that He still has good plans for them. Even for us, though a long time may pass or may have passed, this doesn’t change God’s plans for each and everyone of us. These are plans to prosper you, plans to give you hope and a certain future. So, hold on, wait on the Lord and know that He has only good for you. God’s planning has taken into account all captivities, that is, all disappointments, twists and turns, even our failing. Being omniscient, He has all your bases covered.

Happy 2014 and 2015.
